Mr. Whiting's team has been chosen entirely from clubs in the city, that instruction having been given to avoid travelling expenses as much as possible in bringing the Waverley players in and sending them home again after the match. Apart from that the idea has been to retain the old Metropolitan Union’s status in selecting a team to play for a trophy which was presented to encourage Ihe sub-unions in keen rivalry.
