Point-to-Point Steeples ' At Waverley EGMONT-WANGAM I CLUB SATURDAY S RESULTS • \idcd ideal weather conditions for the’] annual point-to-point steeplechase: meeting of the Egmont-Wanganui' Hunt Club at Waverley. and the attendance was one of the largest regis-l’ tered in the history of these gather-,; ings. The course over which the | events were decided was on Mr. Jack l Lupton's property at Waverley. the j sloping hillside providing an excellent ; vantage point for spectators. A keen edge to the wind kept some <A the people in their motor-cars on the crest of the hill, but there must have been i several hundred enthusiasts present.At the conclusion of the programme the trophies were presented by the 1 Master, Dr. W. T. Simmons. who extended thanks on behalf of the club to I those owners of properties over which j members had hunted during the sea- , son. He also .hanked donors of trophies and < »ngratulated the win- ■ ners. The Lightweight Steeplechase was won by Mr. Stewart Patersons After Dark, ' J. Paw >n. junr. The Tally Hoi* Steeplechase went to Gay Maid, owned by Mr. N. S. Lupton and ridden i by Mr. A.* Lupion.
