Tiie committee members of the Wanganui Girls’ College Old Girls’ Association are holding their annual entertainment for present girls at the college on July 21, at 7.30 p.m. All old girls are invited to attend. Picture and Supper Party. Miss Montgomery Moore entertained a large number of friends at a picture party at a theatre on Thursday night, and afterwards to supper served at her home Victoria Avenue. Your Cooking Problems. Miss C. Wadmore will give another of the winter series of demonstrations on cooking by electricity at the Power Board’s Buildings, St. Hill Street, next Wednesday, July 19, at 2.15 p.m. The programme will include packed oven cooking, novelties, and interesting films. Forthcoming Drama Festival. The Ruapehu Federation of Women’s Institutes will hold a drama festival in Taihape on August 2. Judging by the enthusiasm of the competing teams and the preparations under way, a good evening’s entertainment is assured. Four country teams are > competing, and Mrs. Linda Bennett, M.A., of Palmerston North, is to be the adjudicator. Druids* Hall Dance. Old and new dances, Monte Carlo, and novelty dances will be included m the programme at the dance to be held in the Druids’ Hall to-night. Thia weekly dance is a popular event for a large number of patrons, who spend a t noroughly enjoyable night of dancing to good music. Plain and Fancy Dress Party. I All members and friends of the I Wanganui. National Dancing Society (will have a happy time if they attend 'the plain and fancy dress party being ■ held on Saturday evening, July 22, in ’ McGruer’s Hall.
