WANGANUI CLUB PAST SEASON REVIEWED. REPORT FOR ANNUAL MEETING NEXT WEEK The Wanganui Bowling Club's annual general meeting is to be held at the club pavilion on Saturday, July , 22, when the following annual report will be presented:--Although the weather at the commencement of the season was not ideal it improved with the New Year and a most delightful season was experienced. The greens were in excellent order right up to the end of the season, their condition being very favourably commented on by all visiting bowlers, and thanks are due to the green superintendent, Mr. Spencer Napier, for his capable supervision. After close of play the levels o' the greens were checked and the necessary top-dressing applied; the present condition of the greens gives promise of an excellent playing surface for the coming season. The l caretaker. Mr. Geo. Mullions, continues to give most efficient service. In the club competitions for the year the full rinks winners were found by taking the four players who had the greatest number of wins in , their respective classified positions, an [ innovation which appeared to give satisfaction. At the c>id of the season the club held the Keesing and Hurn > Cups. | During the season the club received visits from the Feilding and Waverley Clubs, and visited Marton, Waver- ; ley and Waitotara. All these games . were most enjoyable. The annual games for the Duthie ■ • Cup were played on our green. Dci spite heavy, gusty wind there was - good and enjoyable play, our club re- . gaining the trophy from the holders, ■ the Hutt Club. The following rinks - represented Wanganui: —O.
