Eacn is valued at about £100(1. The new fur is know-.i as a “platina" silver fox. Among the possessors of a platina fur are the Crown Princess of Norway, the Duchess of Windsor and the film actress Sonja Henio. A few years ago a Norwegian farmer who bred sever foxes-discovered that the markings on one of his cubs were “all wrong." As a curiosity he showed the animal io a famous breeder, Hans Kjaer. Kjaer saw that lhe “all wrong" markings were undeniably beautiful and set annul roaring ether foxes with similar markings. Since then more than 200 silver loxes with the new markings have been bred. The fur dealers of Oslo have rigidly controlled the sale of the pelts, and at the spring sale in London this year not a single genuine “platina" was found among the £2,000,000 worth of furs auctioned.
