KING AND QUEEN AMERICANS DEEPLY TOUCHED ROYAL ATTRIBUTES

On board the Empress of Britain the King received the following farewell message from President Roosevelt : “I cannot allow you and your Queen to sail for home without expressing once more the extreme pleasure which your all-to-brief visit 'to the United States has given us. “The warmth of the welcome accorded you everywhere you visited ini this country was a spontaneous out-j pouring by Americans who were deeply touched by the tact, graciousness, and understanding hearts of our (guests. I shall always like to think that you felt the sincerity of this manifestation of friendship by the American people. “Mrs. Roosevelt joins me in parting felicitations to Your Majesties and in best wishes for a safe and pleasant voyage.” KING IN NEWFOUNDLAND ENTHUSIASTIC WELCOME Received June 18, 6.30 p.m. ST. JOHN (Newfoundland). June 17. i Riding in an open car through 35 miles of public highway lined with cheering thousands, Their Majesties | arrived at Government House. The Mayor and others welcomed Their (Majesties at the entrance to the city, ‘where an address of loyalty was presented.
