Despite the downpour of rain, on the arrival of the King and Queen in Winning, capital of Manitoba, their Majesties ordered the hood of the car to be lowered, so as not to interfere with the view of the crowds who awaited their arrival. The Queen had to use an umbrella to protect her from the rain.
