It is understood that the Government has definitely decided that its attitude in the event of a European war would be one of “sympathetic neutrality." This decision will be finally approved on May 18. AMERICAN MISSION WIPED OUT Received May 18, 1 a.m. PEIPING. May 17. Japanese bombers wiped out the United States mission at Tungpu on the borders of Honan and Hupeh provinces, razing the school and church. There were several casualties but none among the Europeans.
