The total amount of additional sugar likely to be available is estimated at 236,000 tons, plus 85,000 tons from the British colonics and Dominions. In connection with the Government’s emergency purchases the Financial News draws attention to the dangers to the price structure that the releases will involve, and contends that the Government has insufficiently studied the interests of the producers.
