Coloured lights were suspended across the street and presented a very delightful picture. The hall was beatuifully decorated with red, green and yellow, tasslcd paper extending crosswise. Around the sides of the hall red and yellow flowers were interwoven in the cycopodium that was draped around the walls. At each side of the stage was sheaf of autumn-tinted leaves and berries, while across the back was suspended the words “Jubilee 18891939” in tinsel letters. The decorations had not been forgotten in the supper-room either. Similar to the hall, red, green and yellow streamers with cycopodium were used. Credit was due to the ball committee, who had spared nothing to make it a success. Some of the ladies present were the chairman’s wife, Mrs. W. E.
