FINE AIR FORCES
AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND. SIR H. LEVER’S TRIBUTE. Received May 16. 11.42 p.m. LOS ANGELES, May 16. Sir Hardman Lever, head of the British mission which spent, four months in Australia and New Zealand, arrived at San Pedro aboard the Monterey en route to London. He said he had been much impressed by the progress of aviation in Australia and New Zealand in the past 20 years. “They have fine air forces, both in Australia and New Zealand,” Sir Hardman said. He expected that Imperial Airways, of which he was a director, would announce the inauguration of the trans-Atlantic service almost at any moment.
