TUNING OF ORCHESTRAS
STABILISATION OF NOTE Received May 16. 7.40 p.m. LONDON. May 15. The same pitch, instead of a note varying from 435 to 442 vibrations per second, may govern all orchestras as a result of a decision reached at a conference of experts of five nations at Broadcasting House. The conference stabilised at 440 note A, to which all orchestras tune. All countries affiliated are expected to conform.
