DEBATING TEAMS. (Own Correspondent.) MANGAWEKA, May 16. A debate between teams from th<Taihape and Hu<nterville Young Farmers’ Clubs was held at the Max Theatre supper rooms, Mangaweka Y.F.C. on May 1. The subject of the debate being sheep farming is better than dairy farming. The judge, Mr. Waymouth, outlined the conditions of the debate and the contest was opened with the Taihape Y.F.C. team supporting the affirmative ajid the Huntervilie team supporting the negative. After a keep and interesting denalc the decision was given to the Taihape team. At the conclusion of the contest the visitors were the guests of the Mangaweka Y.F.C. at an excellent supper. MANGAWEKA GOLF. In the men's competition held during the week-end a medal round uas won by R. Macßae 9.1-24-67; H. Bailey 2nd., 87-17-70. The junior section was woe by Basil Rowley. Next week-end a visit from the members of the Hawkestone Club will be held at Mangaweka when a match will be played for the “Roffe Mug.” All ladies aj;e requested to bring a plate.
