MRS. JESSIE WATT birthday yesterday Mrs. Jessie Watt, of Wanganui, celebrated her 98th birthday yesterday. Mrs. Watt came to New Zealand from Scotland in 1862 and has lived in Wanganui for the greater part, of her life. Mrs. Watt was a teacher of singing and pianoforte for many years and continued to give lessons until her 83rd birthday when she was giving 52 lessons a week. Mrs. Watt made her last public appearance at the age oi 80 years. When she had passed the 90 years mark, Mrs. Watt was taken for a flight in an aeroplane from the Wanganui Airport. Still hale and hearty, she goes for a daily walk and does not look her ace.
