SUPREME COURT SITS AT WANGANUI
TWO TRUE BILLS FOUND THREE CIVIL CASES SETTLED OUT OF COURT. Two true bills were returned yesterday against accused persons named in indictments placed before a Grand Jury sitting in the Supreme Court at Wanganui. His Honour, Sir Hubert Ostler, presided. Three cases on the civil list, two of them which would have required juries and the other the attention of His Honour alone, have been settled but of Court. The members of the Grand Jury were Messrs. A. R. Donaldson (foreman), Wm. B. Alexander, Albert E. Allpress, Arthur Body, Francis Bristol, Clement C. Brownie, Basil G. Connell, Fred. V. Connell. W. M. Falconer, Clifford N. Wood, Archibald Lamont, Alexander McPhail, Godfrey T. Payne, H. E. L. Rent, Raymond Pepper, Fred. H. G. Rose, W. O. D. Ryall, Cyril S. Sheppard and Leyel C. Swan. True bills were returned against Jack George, aged 58, railway employee, of Auckland, alleged indecent assault on a girl under 16 years of age, and against Gordon Alfred Streat, aged 45, tea-room proprietor, Dargaville, alleged negligent driving causing death.
