The benefit of top- ■ dressing is now becoming apparent on | the greens and most of them are j playing fairly true. With a little j more mild weather they should all be ■in fair order for the rest of the sea- • son. The suspension of the “Pick and ; Place” rule had little effect on the i scoring—no fewer than .nine compe- ' titors equalling or bettering the • standard scratch score. j The following handicap reductions i were made on the week-end's play:— C.
