”OOR DEMAND FOR MUTTON CHILLED BEEF FIRM Lamb market: There is a better feeling in the market and prices w here changed have advanced slightly. Consumption continues good. Mutton market: Wethers, prices generally easier owing to lack of demand. Ewes, .steady, but trade quiet. Beef market: Frozen beef, better inquiry, owing to higher prices chilled. Chilled beef, firmer on the good trade and lighter supplies. N.Z. porker pigs: Trade quiet with prices unchanged. ’ N.Z. baconer pigs: Steady. Down lamb is 1-bd a lb. higher; crossbred lamb, 361 b. to 421 b . l-8d a lb higher; wethers, 481 b. tn 721 b.. 1-Sd a lb. lower; others unchanged. The lamb market is steady, but. the demand for New Zealand mutton is poor. The market on the spot is weaker. Henry S. Fitter and Sons. Ltd., have received the following report from their London oilice: Lamb-: The market is steadier, and it is thought that prices will remain steady at present quotations.
