MANGAMAHU CLUB SECOND DAY'S RESULTS RECORD ENTRIES RECEIVED The Mangamahu Sheep Dog Trial Club’s annual gathering was continued yesterday on Mr. W. Kellick j property, the record entries and favourable weather attracting a large gathering of spectators. Two event? have now been completed and a start made with the huntaway competition, which will be concluded this morning. The judge, Mr. G. Ferguson, of Mangaweka, made the following awards yesterday:— Heading and Ring Event (maximum 48 points).—F. Stedman’s (Mataroa) Peel. 45 points, 1; N. Miller’s (Ohingaiti) Fay, 44. 2; R. O. White’s (Maxwell) Don, 43i, 3; R. O. White’s Roy, 43. 4. Heading and Yarding Event (maximum 77 points).- R. Hunter’s (Mangaweka) Spike, 705. 1: T. England’s <Hunterville) Don. 70. 2; J. Goodwins (Ohingaiti) Mat. 695, 3; C. McMillan’s (Mangaweka) Chance. 69. 4. The huntaway competition, in which there are 40 competitors, was startec yesterday afternoon. Ten dogs have tc be run through to-day. after which a start will be made with the all-round event. Thirty-three entries were received in the two heading events, the standard of performance of the winning competitors being very high.
