RE STOCK ROTE
Sir,—ln reply 1o a let ?r i n this morning's “Chronicle,” sigbd "Wanganui Drover,” I would lib to suggest that when the counci i s good enough to open up stock rotes that the drovers might be curteous enough to make use of them I am thinking of the Montgomery Road stock route (St. John’s Hill) The residents of Parkes Avenue an Parsfins Street petitioned the counjj to have the above-mentioned road opened up and so divert traveling stock from this thickly-populated i?sidential area and especially as he school children traverse this area in their way to and from school. Tie council was kind enough to have th* necessary alterations enacted and ap propriate signs erected notifying drovers of the change over. However, quite a few drovers still insist in using this area, even yet, and just this morning two mobs of cattle passed by on their way from the sale.—l am, etc., "RATEPAYER." April 27. 1939.
