WANGANLI CLUB TWO WEEK-END EVENTS. FLOCK RACE PROVES A “SMASH.” The Wanganui Pigeon Club hampered for two races during the weekend. The Hock race from Frankton resulted in a smash as no birds arrived home on Saturday. The strong, cold wind was too much for the young birds. On Sunday the young bird championship interval race was held from Wellington, an air-line of 94.39 miles. Gurnay Lass, belonging to E. Carveil, covered the distance in the fastest time of 2hrs. 46mins. The placings are as follow; E. Carveil, 984yds. per min 1 J. Frost, 980yds. per min. ... 2 R. Townsend, 906yds. per min. 3 F. MacPherson, 843yds. per min. 4 E. Douglas, 623yds. per min. . 5 T. R. Roskruge, 414yds. per min. 6 K.
