MARTON WEDDING

WILKIN S—CROZIER Considerable interest was caused in Marton on Easter Monday, on the occasion of the marriage between Guy Smales, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Wilkins, of Hamilton, and Avril Moira, only daughter of Mrs. A. Crozier, of Marton. The scene of the ceremony was St. Andrew’s Church, Marton, which had been tastefully decorated by the friends of the bride with dahlias, Michaelmas daisies, and greenery. During the service solos were rendered by Miss Queenie Sherriff (Marton) and Mr. J. Pickett (Morrinsville). The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, looked radiant. She wore a gossamer French lace gown, cut on lines to mould the figure, a sensational feature of the bown being •he panel of fine satin lattice work on the sleeves, around the heart-shaped neckline, and also down the back, from where the long train fell in graceful > folds, to be finished along the eigej with white satin appliqued flowers. Myriads of tiny pearls held the lattice crosses in position, giving the gown a most exclusive appearance. The tulle veil was bordered with satin appliqued flowers, and was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom. A bouquet composed of white roses completed her toilet. The bridesmaid, Miss E. Lyons, looked charming in love-in-the-mist blue elfin lace redingote, over matching satin. Petunia silk velvet flowers appliqued to the lace skirt formed the trimming, while on her head was a tiny fagotted Juliet cap of the same shade. Her flowers were chosen to complete the ensemble. The little flower girl, Colleen Hogan (niece of the bride), made a sweet picture as a replica of the bridesmaid. Mr. R. Wilkins acted as best man, and the Rev. T. H. Burton was the officiating minister. Mrs. Crozier received her guests wearing a black georgette gown with lace trimmings, bla,ck fur cape and toque to match. Mrs. Wilkins was wearing a brown satin costume and hat to match. The reception, which was held in the Druids’ Hall, Marton, took the form of a social evening. Musical items

interspersed with dancing helped the time to fly. The bride, who will be making her home in Hamilton, left for her wedding trip wearing a black costume and a velvet hat trimmed with a feather.
