FATAL CAR CRASH

Y.M.C.A. SECRETARY DEAD VEHICLE HURTLES DOWN HILLSIDE | Per Pre%p Association. I GISBORNE, April 19. One man was killed and two injured when a car containing three Y.M.C.A. secretaries of railway camps crashed down a 60ft. hillside threequarters of a mile north of Paritu at 4.15 p.m. this afternoon. The victims were:— Killed Ronald Middleton-Taylor, single, secretary of No. 4 Camp Y M.C.A. Injured J. Kennedy, married, secretary of Kopuawhara Y.M.C.A. Shock. S. Hodges, married, secretary of Paritu Y.M.C.A. Injuries not serious; now in Cook Hospital. The car was returning from Gisborne, Hodges being the driver. The accident occurred when the car was approaching a corner.
