WOMEN'S GOLF AT WAVERLEY
SUCCESSFUL OPENING DAY. (Own Correspondent). WAVERLEY, April 19. The sun shone brightly on Tuesday afternoon when members of the Waverley Ladies’ Golf Club held their opening day. The Canadian foursome match was won by Mrs. G. Watkins and Mrs. I. D. Parsons with a score of 36, while Miss T. Aiken won the senior putting competition and Mrs. A. E. Symes the junior putting. The following are the results of the Canadian foursome:—Mrs. F. Train and Mrs. K. Gibbons 52—11 —41; Mrs. G. Watkins and Mrs. I. D. Parsons, 47 11—36; Miss N. Mathieson and Mrs. E. C. Dallison, 54—10—44; Miss T. Aiken and Miss D. Dickie. 56—14—42; Mrs. K. Handley and Mrs. Palmer, 54 -10—44; Miss G. Mathieson and Mrs. Pepper, 56—10—46; Miss S. Johnston and Miss M. Dickie, 53—14 —39; Mrs. J. Gray and Miss B. Elmslie, 55 —16—39. The next club day will be held on Thursday instead of Tuesday, a medal round will be played. Members will choose their own partners. ~'
