A.A. WANGANUI HALF OF REGISTERED VEHICLES Ninety-nine new members were elected at last night’s meeting of the executive of the Automobile Association (Wanganui). The secretary, Mr. F. J. Hill, reported that the membership on April 1 was 4233. “This is highly satisfactory,” commented the president, Mr. A. S. Burgess. Two years ago the association aimed at a membership of 3000, but now the objective was 5000. “When we reach 5000 I suppose we will aim for 6000 or 7000 members,” he added. In answer to a question by Mr. N. R. Bain, Patrol L. F. Dowling said that about half the vehicles registered in the district belonged to the Automobile Association Mr. Bain said that what the association was doing was for its members and those car owners who were not members were receiving the benefits without cost.
