On the opening day of the Epsom spring meeting, the following was the result of the Great Metropolitan Handicap (A plate of £llOO, second £lOO, third £5O; about 2i miles). LILLIBILLERO (Mr. J. Lester), ch h by Gainsborough—Saddle Tor, 5 years 3 Thirteen starters. Won by three lengths; one and a-half lengths between second and third. Winner bred by owner and trained by F. C. Pratt at Lambourne, Berkshire. Lillibullero did not race as a two-year-old. and his form last season was poor. His dam, Scintilla, also ran in the colours of Mr. de Rothschild and failed to win in a couple of seasons on the turf. Holrje Chase was also third in the Great Metropolitan last year.
