WEST COAST TITLES SATURDAY NIGHT’S MEETING The West Coast (N. 1. cycling championships will be held on Cook’s Gardens on Saturday night in conjunction with the Wanganui Civil Service athletic championships. The senior cycling championship events will be: Time trial of 1000 metres, 500 metres spring, and 10 mile human paced. The junior events will be the half-mile and five mile championships. The Wanganui Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club will hold two women’s handicap races, 100 yards and 440 yards. The Civil Service championship events will comprise: 100 yards, 200 yards, one mile, hop, step and jump, long jump, shot putt, and one mile cycle. A feature of the meeting will be the inter-house drill and marching competitions. Teams of eight will compete, the time being limited to about five minutes, two and a-hali of which will be devoted to calisthenics. There will also be a relay of eight a-side, each competitor to run 50 yards. Points for the display and relay will count for the shild.
