Meteorological Office, Wellington, Tuesday, March 21, 3 p.m. General Situation.—A depression is moving eastward off the 'Dominion and pressure is again rising. Forecast. —Winds: South-west to south-east, strong at first in parts of the Cook Strait area but decreasing and otherwise light to moderate. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rough at first in Cook Strait but moderating to-night, elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate south-east to north-east winds and slight to moderate seas. Weather: A few scattered light showers probable at first in eastern and northern districts but the weather otherwise fair to fine. Temperatures cool to moderate. The New Zealand Friends’ School, St. John’s Hill, report for 24 hours ending 6 p.m. yesterday: Bright sunshine, 1 hour 10 minutes. Rainfall, .16 inches. Temperature: Maximum, 69deg. Fahr.; minimum, 59deg. Fahr.
