RANGITIKEI SCHOOLS’ SPORTS

PEACE AND MORRIS SHIELDS KEEN COMPETITION (Own Corresnondent.) MARTON, March 9. Beautiful weather favoured the Rangitikei Schools’ Sports Association for its 19th annual sports meeting on the Marton Park on Wednesday. There was a fair attendance of the general public, and teachers from the various schools, assisted by members of the committees, acted as officials, with Mr. P. H. Hall as secretary. The Ladies' Auxiliary League, under the leadership of Mrs. A. Wilkie, had charge of the afternoon tea and refreshments and the thanks of the association are extended to the ladies for their practical support. At the conclusion of the sports, Mr. W. R. McNab, in the absence of Mr. A. S. Coleman (president), presented the shields to the winning schools. Mr. McNab has been connected with the sports over a period of many years and has devoted a good deal of time and energy in bringing the association to such a successful issue. The abbreviations of the schools with their handicaps are as follow: Peace Shield Hunterville (H) scr.
