MOVES IN LONDON JEWS AND ARABS ACTIVE INFORMAL MEETING (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) [ British Official Wirelom. J RUGBY, March 6. The Arab and British delegations to the Palestine conference are to meet again to-day, but chief interest at present centres on an informal meeting which has been called for a late hour to-night between the British and Jewish representatives. There is at present no indication that the Jewish rejection of the British suggestions for the solution of the Palestine problem has been modified. Newspapers state that the Jews were in close consultation yesterday, and, according to some reports, the executive of the Jewish Agency will this morning consider counter-sug-gestions for submission to to-night’s informal meeting with the British delegation. GANG LEADER SENTENCED TO DEATH MEDICAL OFFICER SHOT JERUSALEM, March 6. Ahmed Simrin, aged 33, the leader of the Red Death gang, who has spent eleven of the last fourteen years in gaol, has been sentenced to death forbeing in possession of arms. A Haifa message states that an Arab .jumped on to the running-board of an ambulance and Diet Dr. Sternberg, medical officer in Palestine, in the shoulder.
