REGENT THEATRE

“OH SUSANNA!” The attraction at the Regent Theatre to-day will be a double feature programme. Gene Autry, the singing saddle star, will appear with Smiley Burnette and "Champion" in “Oh Susanna!" The story deals with a bad man masquerading as a radio star at a dude ranch and is considered to be Gene Autry's best production to date. Frances Grant, who did a small part in “Red River Valley,” plays opposite Autry and among the supporting players are Ed Piel, sen., Fred Burns, Roger. Grey, Snowfloke, Roscoe Gerall, Ken Cooper and Alfred James. Gene Autry’s new numbers in “Oh Susanna!" are “By a Waterfall," “Riding Down the Texas Trail,” "Dear Old Western Skies,” "Whisky Bill,” and "Honeymoon Trail,” in addition to the old favourite. “Oh Susanna!” The associate feature will be Glenda Farrell and Barton Mac Lane in “Adventurous Blonde," the third in the series of “Torchy Blane,” newspaper - mystery - comedy - dramas. Glenda Farrell plays the part of a girl reporter and Barton Mac Lane is a rather ponderous detective-lieutenant. The first of the series was “Smart Blonde” and the second "Flyaway Baby.”
