NAPIER PARK MEETING KATHBELLA TAKES SPRINT' TOTALISATOR SHOWS INCREASE [Per.Press HASTINGS, March 3. The Napier Park autumn meeting was held in brilliantly fine weather. The track was hard and fast. There was a very large attendance. The totalisator handled £9783 10s, compared with £BIB4 on Saturday last year, when a two-day meeting was held, the increase being £1599 10s. MAIDEN STAKES. (Of £100; five furlongs). 1 — Screen Lord, 8.0, J. Forsyth 1 2 Gold Chase, 8.0, H. Murray 2 4 Colin, 8.5, J. Campbell 3 Also: G Defray, 7 Penny Farthing, 3 Kalika, 8 Bryda, 10 Misty Bay, J Arctic Queen, 5 Laughing Song. Length; head. Defray was fourth. Time, 1.2. SAPLING STAKES. (Of £100; 5 furlongs). 1— Gayest Son, 8.1, R. Marsh .... 1 2 Dainty Dell, 7.12, H. Callahan 2 4—Charing Cross 7.0, B. Stowe 3 Also: 1 Tableau, and Sunola 7.7 a (bracketed with winner), 3 Kobi, 5 Regale, 7 Charles Edward, 6 Romano. Three lengths each way. Sunola was fourth. Time, 1.1 1-5. NAPIER PARK CUP. (Of £200; If miles). 3 IVAR, 7.2, J. Campbell 1 4 GRANVALE, 7.0, W. Mudford 2 2—TIGER GAIN, 7.13, J. Forsyth 3 Alos: J. Big Dook. Tiger Gain and Ivar made all the running with Ivarjust holding the advantage into the straight. Tiger Gain weakened at the distance, and Ivar went on to win convincingly by half a length from
Granvale, who finished fast to beat Tiger Gain by half a length. Time, 2.5 1-5. ESK HACK HANDICAP. (Of £100; six furlongs). 3—Halley, 7.4, J. Campbell 1 2 Gay Mimic, 8.1, L. Cullen 2 6—Greenore, 7.104, H. Callahan 3 Also: 1 Red Witch 9.0, 4 Royal Spades 7.8, 5 Quilp, 7 Tycoon. Head, two lengths. Red Witch was fourth Time, 1.14 3-5. AUTUMN HANDICAP. (Of £130; six furlongs). 1— KATHBELLA, 7.4, J, Campbell 1 3 GAY SON, 9.5, H. Callahan .. 2 2 FELICITATION, 7.10, Mudford 3 Also: 4 Fossicker 7.3, 5 Omarere 7.54. Led all the way and shook off Gay Son to win by three lengths, with Felicitation three-quarters of a lengtn away. Fossicker was fourth. Time, 1.13 1-5. REDCLYITE HACK HANDICAP.
