KOHI SCHOOL SWIMMING CARNIVAL HELD. (Own Correspondent.) WAVERLEY, March 4. Held in glorious weather, the Kohi School swimming spor.s were well attended by the wnole district. The 100 yards championship for the Herbert Smith Cup was a close race, the three competitors finishing well together. Results were as follows: — Boys' 100 yards championship: Alan Oliver. Girls’ 100 yards championship: Clara Robertson. 20 yards girls (open): Mary Robertson 1, J. Campbell 2, Margaret Robertson 3. 20 yards Boys (open): J. Hughes 1, R. Milne and A. Gulliver 2. Diving (open): Mary Rober.son 1, Clara Robertson 2, A. Gulliver 3. Relay: Standard 3 1, Standard 6 2, Standard 5 3. Diving for plate: C. Oliver. At the conclusion of the sports afternoon tea was served in the hall and the prizes for 1938 were distributed.

The head teacher, Mr. Littlewood, thanked the public for their attendance and Mr. R. Oliver for prizes donated. Mr. R. Oliver, chairman, outlined the aims of the committee, and atter wishing all competitors further success asked Mrs. Oliver to distribute the swimming trophies and school prizes, which were as follow: Standard 5: C. Robertson, R. Milne, L. Gulliver, J. Hughes, L. Sarjeant. Standard 4: M. Hone, J. Campbell, A. Oliver, G. Perkins. Standard 3: M. Robertson, T. Oliver, D. Morrison, W. Hone, A. Gulliver. Standard 2: K. Soland, L. Oliver, F. Sarjeant. Standard 1: A. Oliver, R. Oliver, Mary Robertson, Valma Barclay, I. Harrison, R. Gulliver. Primer 4: A. Milne, H. Oliver, B. Robertson. S. Campbell, E. Oliver. Infants: D. Robertson, Peter Campbell, G. Barclay, G. Langdon, I. Oliver. Gifts were also given to all the young children of the district.

Kohi School Picnic. On Thursday, February 16, the Kohi School journeyed io the Waverley beach, where the annual picnic was held. In spite of the strong wind at the beach, conditions at the camp were ideal. At the conclusion pt the function Mr. R. Oliver, chairman, thanked all those who had assisted, and Messrs. J. L. Beere, W. P. Wallace, E. C. Dallison, A. A. Thompson, J. Dunn and S. Bromiley for prizes donated.
