1 MORE ACTIVITY SHOWN

Witii the Taranaki Jockey Club.-, meeting coming next week the New Plymouth track is bearing a morelively appearance. Both the course proper, with the flags out about 25 feet, and the plough were freely used on Thursday morning. On the course proper Red Sand and Gienthawn shaped well over half a mile in 53 l-ssec. Though Red Sand figures as an acceptor for the Rangitikei meeting, no decision has been reached whether she will fulfil hei engagement. Young Charles displayed wash when running three furlongs in 39 3-ssec. Clessamor was given a working gallop over six furlongs, striding out freely. On the plough Platter covered seven furlongs in 1.36. He ran the first half-mile in 53sec. but was slowing at the finish. Gold Petal strode over half a mile easily in 55sec. Te Morehu, who has come througn his northern racing in good style, did easy pace work on the inner. Sieglind worked usefully over two rounds. Namara, who cut a leg slightly when swimming in lhe sea on Wednesday, was restricted to an easy task on the inside. Platter gave a safe exhibition over five steeplechase fences. Red Sun jumped six hurdles in great style, fencing quickly and well. Book law was too good for Wynardo in a bout over six hurdles. Booklaw jumped faultlessly throughout, while Wynardo, who was jumping in company for the first time, was not disgraced.
