CLARRIE GRIMMETT

Grimmett made his first appearance for Victoria. It was against N.S.W. in Sydney after the war. He also played tor Victoria against South Australia. It was at Adelaide in February, 1924, when he secured one for 12 and eight for 68. In the following October he played for South Australia against Victoria also at Adelaide, taking five for 79 and four for 170, and scoring 49 and 22. Before coming to Australia, however, Grimmett played good class cricket in Wellington, New Zealand. He took part in Plunket Shield matches. When he did come across the Tasman he linked up with Sydney district, played third, then second, and finally first grade. He next went to Melbourne and played first-grade there. Finally to Adelaide, where he cast his anchor.
