ALAND ISLAND

INTEREST IN FUTURE Received Feb. 3, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, Feb. 2. The Associated Press says the Soviet has formerly advised its intention of strosgly opposing Sweden and Finland's intentions to revise the International Convention of 1921, which decrees the perpetual neutralisation and demilitarisation of Aland Island, in the Gulf of Bosnia. Russia is not a member of the convention. which consists of the other Baltic States, England, France, and Italy. It. is understood that Russia, protesting to the League of Nations, claimed that the Finnish Army was dominated by Germany. In the event of war it would be simple for Germany to assume control oi any fortifications in the islands and thus dominate the Baltic Sea.
