JEWISH MIGRATION

REFUGEES FROM GERMANY LARGE SUMS OF MONEY TAKEN OUT BERLIN, Jan. 17. It is officially announced that 175.000 Jews have emigrated since 1933, taking out money and valuables estimated at £30,000,000. A code of conduct for Jewish refugees from Germany arriving in Britain has been prepared by the Board of Deputies of British Jews and a copy is being issued to every Jewish refugee in Britain, states a British Official Wireless message. Practical instructions are given on registration and a list of useful organisations, together with hints on social behaviour intended to smooth the path of refugees among their British hosts. Arrival in Australia The Oronsay, which arrived at Fremantle from London to-day, brought 120 Austrian and German Jewish refugees, mostly professional men and manufacturers hound for Melbourne and Sydney. They are described as being of a fine type. The Dominican Republic, co-operat-ing with the Inter-Governmental Refugees Committee, has agreed to take probably 100,000 Jewish refugees under an organised scheme by which new industries will be established.
