Wool Buyers Arrive.
Overseas wool buyers who will operate at the first Wanganui wool sale of the season on Thursday, arrived from Napier last night on the return week-end excursion train from Napier. The wool buyers travelled in sleeping cars attached to the rear oi the train. To-day the buyers will start the task of inspecting and valuing the wool in the various stores, each bale having to be opened for their inspection and, later, sewing up again. “Are You My Girl?” “Are you my girl?" is a puzzle which has presented itself to many gay Romeos on North Auckland beaches this summer. The whole thing has arisen over the extent of girls' beach hats. On a crowded beach the average young man or husband has had considerable difficulty in locating his particular hat-owner. It has been common for girls lying or walking on the sand with these umbrella-like hats to find a sunburned Romeo peering under the brim saying as he does so: “Oh, I’m just looking for my girl.” The latest sun-glasses have also aided in effective disguise against the unwary swain.
