Miss Gwen James, Swiss Avenue, has returned after a holiday spent at Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Boyes, who left before Christmas on a holiday ! visit to Sydney, have returned to their home in Selwyn Street. Mrs. W. Long, of Wellington, is spending a holiday in Wajiganui. Miss Shirley Nancarrow, Plymouth Street, spent the holidays at Masterton. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Caiman return to Wanganui at the week-end after spending two weeks in Rotorua and one in Devonport, Auckland. • - • * Misses E. and M. Bell, A. Gaze and A. Hutton, of Wanganui, and Miss L. Arnold, of Wellington, left Wanganui over the week-end for Auckland, , where they will stay at the Milford residence of M r . Gaze. • • • • Miss K. O'Sullivan, who was the guest of Mrs. O’Neill for the Wanganui tennis tournament, has returned to Hawera. • • • • Mr. and Mrs. John Hutton motored up from Wellington during the weekend and are at present the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Lithgow, “Barningham,” Westmere. Miss M. Arnold, who has been visiting Wanganui over the Christ- ; mas holidays as the guest of Mrs. H. T. Arnold, Duncan Street, left yesterday by car for Auckland, where she will spend the remainder of her vacation. Mrs. L. McKenzie and Miss E. Hill, of Oamaru, arrived from the South on Monday and are the guests of Major and Mrs. N. Brown, Abbott Street, Gonville, for the McKenzie— Brown wedding, which takes place this evening.
Miss Connie Collins and Miss V. Louis have left for Sydney en route to Melbourne, where Miss Louis has taken a teaching position on exchange. Miss Collins will return to Wanganui at the end of the school vacation.

King, Dunedin, is visiting Wanganui. Mrs. G. E. Hannett, of Wanganui, who left on Christmas Eve by the cruise liner Orford from Auckland, was expected to arrive at her destination, Perth, Western Australia, yesterday. Mrs. Hannet is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Lloyd Gilford, West Australia. Miss Helen Aston, England, is a passenger for New Zealand by the Otranto. She is a very keen tennis player and belongs to the same lawn tennis club as Miss Dorothy Round. Miss Aston is travelling with her brother, Dr. F. Aston, who is a wellknown scientist and a Fellow of. Trinity College. Cambridge.
