MAJOR WEARNE TO RETIRE Received Jan. 5, 5.5 p.m. SYDNEY, Jan. 5. Major A. E. Wearne, Reuter’s general manager for Australia and New Zealand, has retired after having been 29 years with the company. Mr. C. D. Thomas, formerly Reuter’s Sydney manager, has been appointed to succeed Major Wearne.
