RECORD RECRUITING

Since June when Sir Kingsley Wood, Air Minister, announced that owing to further expansion of the Royal Air Force 1700 pilots would be recruited, 1300 candidates have been accpted, leaving only 400 vacancies to be filled in the next three months. DEMANDS BY GERMANY
MILITARY ALLIANCE WITH CZECHOSLOVAKIA Received Jan. 5, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, Jan. 4. The Warsaw correspondent of The Times quotes ostensibly authoritative political officials from Prague that M. Chvalkovsky, the Czech Foreign Minister, has postponed his visit to Berlin because of new demands by Germany, which a section of the Government is unwilling to accept.
