LARGE SCALE EMIGRATION

REFUGEES LEAVING CZECHOSLOVAKIA JEWS GOING TO PALESTINE 1000 GERMANS FOR CANADA PRAGUE, Jan. 4. Ten thousand Austrian, German and Sudeten refugees are leaving Czechoslovakia in the first step of a scheme for large-scale, State-aided emigration, largely financed from the British £10,000,000 loan. Five thousand Jews for whom certificates have already been granted wil go to Palestine, but definite arrangements have been made for only 1000 of 5000 Germans. These are going to Canada, while the other 4000 are being distributed between various South American States. The Polish-German discussions regarding Polish Jews expelled from Germany in October have been resumed. Germany is likely to release only a small percentage of their property. Meanwhile many refugees remain in misery in border camps.
