HURN CUP CHALLENGE WANGANUI EAST DEFEAT CASTLECLIFF. The Castlecliff Bowling Club played a challenge game for the Hurn Cup last evening, but were defeated by Wanganui East (holders). The game was a very close one in the early stages. Castlecliff were leading s—l on the sixth end, but the ninth saw the board at 8-all. The 12th. end saw Wanganui East in the lead, 11—10, but Castlecliff evened matters on the 13th. The holders were three up on the 16th, 15—12, and on the 17th they notched three more points. Castlecliff wanted eight on the last end to win, but they never looked like getting them. Details:—Raine, Purnell, Fletcher, Stewart (Wanganui East) 21, v.
