YOUTH DROWNED IN SEA
SMALL BOAT CAPSIZES COMPANION REACHES SHORE | Per Press Association.] HOKITIKA, Jan. 4. Thomas Chinn, aged 19, was drowned off the sea beach. He had been fishing in the open roadstead all day and was attempting to larkl. An increasing sea drifted the small boat into the surf and it capsized. His companion, Harding, reached the shore exhausted. Cninn disappeared, and the body has not been recovered. The boat was awshed ashore.
