GRAVE UNREST AMONG IMPORTERS
LICENSING RESTRICTIONS DISMISSAL OF EMPLOYEES LIKELY IN AUCKLAND FALLING OFF IN TRADE ANTICIPATED Press messages received from various parts of New Zealand indicate grave unrest and apprehension among importers at the probable effect of the new restrictions on imports. A falling off ia trade is anticipated and repercussions of a serious nature are expected when the degree of restriction is fully made known in Great Britain. An Auckland message says that Japanese goods have been completely banned under the new order. Dismissals of staff are foreshadowed by Auckland firms.
