“BACK IN CIRCULATION” The fine Warner Brothers’ picture "Back in Circulation,” in which Pat O'Brien and Joan Blondell have leading roles, is being screened at the Regent Theatre to-day. The story commences with the death of a millionaire under mysterious circumstances and the efforts of the editor of a New York newspaper (O’Brien’ to solve the problem. With the aid of a keen girl reporter (Miss Blondell) he amasses a great amount of circumstantial evidence against the widow and, through his startling stories, she is brought to trial. She is convicted by a jury which has been swayed largely by the newspaper reports, but her manner in the court suggests to the reporter that she is shielding someone else. Eventually, the reporter is able to gain an explanation which proves the widow to be innocent. The second attraction is the “Variety Show.” “Bulldog Drummond in Africa” The efforts of a powerful international spy ring to steal the plans of a mysterious radio wave disintegrator, England’s greatest military secret, starts a vicious diplomatic intrigue, involving several important European. Powers, causes the kidnapping of the head of Scotland Yard and brings "Bulldog Drummond,” the famed amateur detective, face to face with the most exciting adventure of his career in “Bulldog Drummond in Africa,” which opens on Saturday at the Regent Theatre. Led by J. Carrol Naish, the international spies kidnap "Colonel Nielson” of Scotland Yard, played by H. B. Warner, when all their efforts to learn the precious secret fail. After murdering Warner’* bodyguard, they carry him off to in-trigue-ridden Morocco, where they have a stronghold in the desert. Here they plan either to pry the secret loose from him by means of slow torture or to kill him as a last act of revenge. Although forbidden by Scotland Yard to leave England, John Howard, again cast as the famed sleuth, steals his aeroplane right from under the noses of the guards and flies to Morocco to rescue his best friend.
