CANADA IN PAST YEAR REMARKABLE STATISTICS WINNIPEG, Dec. 6. Commercial aviation in Canada in 1937 showed a remarkable increase over previous years. During the year, 10,627,000 miles were flown, compared with 7,804,000 miles in 1936 and 7,522,000 miles in 1935. In these flights 2,004,000-ton miles were carried, compared with 1,16b,000-ton miles in 1936. Carrying freight, passengers, and mail to tne mining fields and to the remote parts of the country was the principal activity of the commercial aircraft in Canada in 1937. The fact that machinery and equipment can be brought to the mining fields within a reasonable time, ...id at reasonable cost, has to the increase Li mining activity in Canada, and a number of new mining fields owe their existence to this new method of transportation.
