NO QUARTER TO BE GIVEN ERRING MOTORISTS
FLOUTING N.S.W. TRAFFIC LAWS STERNER MEASURES PROPOSED SYDNEY, Jan. 3. Since Christmas Eve 50 persons have been killed in New South Wales, 25 of them in road accidents. The previous year’s total for the same period was 30 deaths, of which 15 occurred on the roads. In Victoria, 59 persons have lost their lives since Christmas Eve and nearly 100 were injured. Drowning accounted for 21 deaths and road accidents 18. The Minister of Transport in New South Wales, Mr. M. F. Bruxner, stated that motorists who wilfully flout traffic laws will be given no quarter during 1939. “These people have been .given a fair c l ' nee. Now the gloves are off and! e will see what sterner measures will do.”
