Mr. W. R. Aislabie, who has been visiting Wanganui for the New Zealand chess congress, has returned to Napier. Mr. H. C. Huse, of Hamilton, after 40 years' service with the Railway Department, including four years in Wanganui, the senior audit inspector for the North Island, has retired. Mr. Huse began his career with the department in 1898, and was appointed stationmaster at Waiouru in 1910. After a transfer to Waitotara in 1912, he was moved to Waitara, where he’ repiained from 1915 to 1923. In .1925 Mr. Huse was appointed traffic inspector for the Wanganui district, and went to Hamilton in 1929 as audit inspector. In 1932 he was apointed senior audit inspector of the North Island.
