Trespassing on School Grounds

Trespassing on school property at night, particularly by young couples, has caused action to be taken by the police in Palmerston North. Offenders were dealt with recently, and although names were suppressed an indication was given that that leniency would not be extended in the future. The matter was referred to the Minister of Education (Hon. P. Fraser; by a deputation representative of the Wanganui Education Board yesterday, and the Minister said he intended to instruct the police to press for publication of the names. This offence was common in Wanganui some years ago and two young people were prosecuted as a warning.
