Pleasure at the achievement of the country library service to date and al the increasing response forthcoming from smaller towns and country districts where the service was operating was expressed by Hon. P. Fraser, Minister of Education, in an interview to-day. The ..linister said that the service now owned 18,000 volumes, most of which were at present in use in various parts of the Dominion. After outlining the work of the service the Minister said that up to the present it had been concerned omy with providing for the needs of adults but it is intended as early as possible to provide similar facilities for juvenile readers.
